As property professionals working across Lancaster and Morecambe, we’re pleased to share positive news about healthcare developments that benefit our local community. The Rosemere Cancer Foundation has confirmed funding for essential support sessions that will continue throughout 2025.
These monthly Saturday open mornings, costing £900 each, provide invaluable support to radiotherapy patients. Small groups of up to ten patients can familiarise themselves with the Radiotherapy Department during quieter hours, helping to reduce anxiety about their upcoming treatment.
The sessions include comprehensive tours of the facilities, with patients able to see the LINAC machine in action and speak directly with radiographers, engineers, and Macmillan staff. This personal approach has already benefited numerous patients, with the new funding set to help approximately 200 more people in 2025.
Beyond these sessions, Rosemere Cancer Foundation has implemented several patient-focused improvements, including Surface Guided Radiotherapy technology, personal treatment gowns, and customised music options during treatment. They’ve also enhanced the environment with nature-themed LED ceiling panels and a dedicated quiet room.
The foundation’s work extends across Lancashire and South Cumbria, ensuring world-class cancer treatments are available to local residents. Patients interested in attending these sessions can book by calling 01772 522931.
This development demonstrates the outstanding healthcare support available to our community, making Lancaster and Morecambe not just great places to live, but areas where residents can access high-quality medical care and support when needed.
