Lancashire Volunteers Celebrate Royal Recognition

Share article

Lancashire is basking in well-deserved glory as three local volunteer groups have been honoured with the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This accolade, the highest a volunteer group can receive in the UK, highlights the exceptional contributions these groups make to their communities.

This year, 232 charities, social enterprises, and volunteer organisations across the nation have been recognised, underscoring the vital role volunteers play in strengthening communities and improving lives. For Lancashire, this recognition is a testament to the innovation, dedication, and local impact these groups have achieved.

The local recipients of this esteemed award include Escape2Make in Lancaster, which offers free, safe creative workshops for young people in the Lancaster and Morecambe areas. Helping Hearts, based on the Fylde Coast, supports over 150 people weekly with essential items, counselling, and emotional support. Also on the Fylde Coast, Counselling in the Community provides free professional counselling to those most in need.

Each group will be presented with a certificate signed by HM The King and an exclusive commemorative crystal by Mrs Amanda Parker, Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire. Additionally, two volunteers from each group will have the honour of attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace in 2026, joining other award winners from across the UK.

At Lancastrian Estates, we understand the importance of community spirit and neighbourliness, which are key considerations for home buyers and renters alike. We are proud to support and celebrate the achievements of these remarkable volunteer groups. Their dedication not only enriches our local communities but also makes Lancashire a more vibrant and welcoming place to live.
