Lancaster is set to host a culinary extravaganza as five of the north west’s award-winning chefs unite for a noble cause. This exclusive fundraising evening aims to support CancerCare, a charity dedicated to aiding individuals and families affected by cancer across north Lancashire and south Cumbria.
The event, hosted at Lancaster & Morecambe College, promises a five-course meal crafted by renowned chefs using the finest locally sourced ingredients. Guests will indulge in culinary masterpieces such as Paul Leonard’s asparagus snacks, Nina Matsunaga’s Herdwick lamb tartare, and Ryan Blackburn’s salt-aged duck. The evening will conclude with Oli Martin’s exquisite parkin tart dessert.
Lorraine Stanton, a stalwart of the regional hospitality scene, will oversee the proceedings. With over 40 years of industry experience, Lorraine has been instrumental in championing regional talent and supporting hospitality businesses. Her expertise ensures an evening of seamless enjoyment and celebration of local culinary prowess.
Tickets, priced at £150, include a welcome glass of sparkling wine and the five-course set menu. While the chefs are unable to accommodate specific dietary requirements, the evening promises a delightful experience for all attendees. A silent auction and prize raffle will offer guests the chance to win unique experiences, with all proceeds benefiting CancerCare.
CancerCare’s Claire Mason expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from chefs, local businesses, and the community. She emphasised the importance of fundraising events, which provide over 90% of the charity’s funding. Emma Dennison, from Lancaster & Morecambe College, highlighted the event as a fantastic opportunity to support the community while showcasing the talents of their hospitality students.
