Lancaster is buzzing with excitement as the 12th annual Fun Palace returns on October 4th, promising a day brimming with creativity and discovery. This delightful event, which runs from 10am to 4pm, is a testament to the community spirit that thrives in our city. With a plethora of free activities ranging from crafts and juggling to chess and Lego robotics, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The heart of the Fun Palace is Lancaster Library, complemented by additional events at The Judges Lodgings. Thanks to the support from Lancaster BID, this year also sees pop-up activities in the city’s two bustling shopping centres, ensuring that the fun is spread far and wide.
Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, the Fun Palace is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to engage in a variety of inclusive and participatory activities. In the library, you can explore the wonders of crystal growing, delve into the intriguing world of 3D maths, or let your imagination soar with storytelling using dice. There’s even a chance to design your favourite plates of food and uncover the fascinating 1684 Map of Lancaster Project.
Fun Palaces are part of a national campaign that encourages communities to come together and enjoy learning new arts, crafts, science, tech, and digital skills. It’s a day where curiosity is celebrated, and everyone is invited to join in the fun.
At Lancastrian Estates, we love seeing our community come alive with events like these. They not only offer a fantastic day out but also highlight the vibrant and welcoming nature of Lancaster. If you’re considering making Lancaster your home, or if you’re already a resident looking to move, our team is here to help you every step of the way.
