Highlights

University of Lancaster was founded in 1964 and is a highly ranked global university. According to the 2022 Guardian league table the University is number one in the north west and among the top 10 universities in England.  It also boasts an excellent reputation internationally.

Lancaster City Football Club formed in 1905 and is the highest ranked non-league football club playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The Ashton Memorial is a folly in Williamson Park in Lancaster built between 1907 and 1909 by the millionaire industrialist Lord Ashton. The impressive dome stands 150 feet tall and dominates the Lancaster skyline.
