Situated opposite the gates to Williamson Park, home of the Ashton Memorial, on Wyresdale Road the location is perfect. The Grammar School is just a short walk away as is the University of Cumbria. The "back roads" to Lancaster University are adjacent and there is a regular bus service too. The city centre is within walking distance in one direction and there are great local shops including post office, hairdresser and florist just down the road at Bowerham. Everything is on your doorstep and easily accessed and yet the park and the rolling fields of Quernmore are at your door. These houses are some of the oldest in Lancaster dating back to when Golgotha was, as the name would suggest, a separate hillside village overlooking the port of Lancaster. Their sought after location and their immense character make them ever popular.
A beautiful stone built cottage with flowers at the door. The front door is painted in a duck egg shade which complements the stone walls beautifully. Inside wooden floors, an exposed stone wall and white walls frame the perfect focal point, a cast iron stove set into a large open fireplace with exposed stone lintel above. The lounge diner is open to the rear kitchen which has been updated with a sleek white kitchen. The solid wood block work top complements the wood flooring which runs through from the lounge. There is an induction hob, integrated oven and recessed graphite grey styled sink. Recessed spot lighting creates the perfect finish. From the kitchen stairs lead up and there is also a back door leading out to the communal cobbled yard and rear access. The outhouse is very generous and having light, power and plumbing it makes a very good laundry too.
On the first floor you will find the master bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is traditionally styled with a white three piece bath suite, over bath shower and screen. White tiling and matching flooring really enhances the light. All three bedrooms enjoy light, bright decor and have plenty of character with low set cottage style windows.
